National Instruments VXIpc-486 Model 500 Embedded Computer
Featured with onboard Random-Access Memory (RAM) and a microprocessor, the NI VXIpc-486 Model 500 is an Embedded Computer. This device is designed to be used in VXI mainframes. When deployed in Slot 0, the controller operates as a system controller. The VXIpc-486 Model 500 Series devices offer multiple configurations. The expansion kit can be used to host a variety of different plug-in boards. Since it is based on the ISA (Industry Standard Architecture), the VXIpc-486 Model 500 Embedded Computer offers an easy-to-use and high-performance platform for VXIbus systems.
The availability of a broad range of compatible National Instruments’ software programs enables users to program VXI directly. Moreover, you can control numerous externally connected GPIB instruments from your NI VXIpc-486 Model 500 by using NI-488.2 software. The super VGA video (optional feature) enables you to enjoy high-resolution graphics for viewing or editing complicated images in CAD or graphics programs. This Embedded Computer comes with an External CLK10 connector, which is compatible with TTL-level signals.
The National Instruments VXIpc-486 Model 500 can hold multiple configuration profiles: A, B, C, D, E, and F. The factory default configuration of this device is configuration A. The four different Slot 0 settings (A, B, C, and D) are helpful for systems where multiple mainframes are involved. You can operate multiple VXIpc-486 Model 500 Embedded Computers in different modes to achieve synchronization between multiple mainframes. This model comes with different LEDs on its front panel, including a FAILED light which indicates whether the unit has passed its prestart up self-test.
